FACT VS MYTH: FRESH PRODUCE STORAGE - SEALED IS ALWAYS BETTER

Is “sealed is always better” actually true when it comes to fresh produce storage - or is it one of those kitchen myths we’ve all accidentally believed?

Our latest blog breaks down this fact vs myth so you can store smarter, waste less, and keep your fridge and pantry looking effortlessly organised - without sacrificing freshness.

❌ MYTH: Sealed is always better
All fruits and veggies need to be sealed to stay fresher for longer.

✅ FACT: Airflow keeps some fruits & veggies fresher
The key to fresh produce staying fresher for longer is using the right storage method.

Some fruits and veggies are best stored in the fridge - either in the crisper drawer or in our fridge storage Keep.me Fresh Containers.

Our Keep.me Fresh Containers have sliding air vents that let you control the airflow and moisture levels.

Close air vents:
- To shut off air to produce more humidity
- For fruits & veggies prone to wilting or losing moisture quickly
- Perfect for cauliflower, carrots, leafy greens, strawberries, lychees and cut produce

Open air vents:
- To allow air to freely move in container and for ethylene gas to escape
- For produce that easily rot or that produce ethylene gas
- Ideal for avocados, mandarins, mini tomatoes, pears and stone fruits (apricots, peaches, plums)

There are certain produce that are best kept at room temperature to extend the shelf life - potatoes, onions, ginger, garlic and tomatoes.

Storing your fresh produce correctly will keep them fresher for longer and reduce food wastage too.
